Recipient John Prendergast

Humanitarian John Prendergast received the fourth Crystal Tiger Award on April 21, 2008.

Prendergast has dedicated a quarter century of his life to ending genocide and crimes against humanity worldwide. He is co-founder and co-chair of the ENOUGH Project and has attracted international attention to causes across the African continent. Prendergast also served as director of African affairs at the National Security Council during the Clinton administration. And in 2007, he co-wrote "Not on Our Watch: The Mission to End Genocide in Darfur and Beyond" with actor Don Cheadle.

His best-selling books and award-winning documentaries have opened the world's eyes to the horrors of genocide and other mass atrocities and he has served as a tireless advocate for those who have no voice, relaying their message to a world that can forget it all too quickly.
